Tangimoana (meaning "crying sea") is located at the river mouth of the Rangitikei River and is a popular place for fishing and sailing. The wetlands on the northwest side of the village are a significant wildlife area for migrating birds.

As at Oct 09 the walkway needs a bit of a tidy up. Due to Horizons flood protection work the stopbanks around town are being raised significantly. The Community hope to redevelop the walkway to include the tops of the stopbanks. This will enable great river and sea views at...
