Walking Surprises Us

A bit long winded but have to share ...

With my new found enthusiasm I got to beach this morning in time to see most wonderful sunrise - my first thought is how I must share this with you and I wondered where else around the country other Wonder Walkers were doing the same.

I always take my radio with me and tend to surf different stations to find music that inspires me. Generally something really upbeat that makes me walk with a spring in my step, even having a sneaky dance step or twirl around wondering if anyone is watching the this 'wacky walker'.

This morning however I got caught up listening to quite a melancholy dialogue on 'The Breeze' - a prelude to Father's Day and then they played a song called 'Dance with my Father Again' - never stopped to listen to the words of that before - so sad and so thought provoking and moving. So instead of my usual pumping step I ended up almost home, in our driveway dancing by myself, waltzing all the way up the steps and in the door - dog with head cocked to the side as if 'she's totally lost the plot now'!!!

... so I've literally come in the door and sat down here to type this message while still fresh on my mind - had I not walked this morning I'd have been doing something else, foggy jumbly busy head thinking of my chores for the day and weekend, all the 'to do's' ... so really rounding up to say that "Walking Surprises Us", clears the troubled mind, lightens the heart ... now to those chores ... energised and ready to face the day. Have a great day fellow Wonder Walkers ...

Hi Ann

Thanks for your reply. Yes and to be honest I was never a 'morning person' but it has changed my life and I know the difference when I don't walk.

I've been suffering 'empty nest syndrome' this year so walking has helped me feel better. I think too it's been the gloomiest winter so it's great to see the sun again.

Have a great weekend.
