OUR BLOG: Need a kick up the b......

I suppose only the regulars have noticed the silence from the partners in crime at Wonder Walkers headquarters.!

It is hard to put a finger on it but to be perfectly honest sometimes things in life become such a grind that finding the energy and enthusiasm to do anything becomes a monumental task.

This winter has taken it's toll,in our family it appears that one or another is always sick. Not life threatening but a constant stream of antibiotics and in my case a horrible dry cough that is going nowhere and I can't remember the last time I had a full nights sleep.
And so it all compounds, the lack of exercise means you aren't getting the natural endorphine rush which doesn't help the mood.(Physcho mother is back!)

The cold wet weather starts to get you down and so it is like the rolling stone.
The little jobs get left and turn into major ones like updating the events, posting new and fresh content and sending out the belated newsletter..that hasn't happened because along with everything else I have writers block or whatever you call it... Read the full text of this blog entry.

Not helped when the 'other half' decides she will stand in the forthcoming local government elections.......About 8 yeras ago I left my job with the City Council....having worked in local govt for 16 years....and have bored Susan to death with tales of Council this and Council that for years.....Somehow I just cant get it out of the system so I'm going to give it a go!I have already promised the fiscally minded partner that if -having spent the Gen Y's inheritance on a failed election campaign- then I will gracefully(yeah right) move on and dedicate myself to WW and other things. On the WW front things are happening in the background which is intended to give our baby some much needed new energy.Anyway ...I must away to think about the campaign trail and look forward to standing out in the rain banging my election signs into the ground so that some hoons can come along and tear them out....Must keep positive!!!!Hard to when a friend saw my election photo and asked how many years ago that was taken!!!!However not all that long ago in the history of our world we Kiwi women got the right to vote -thanks to those amazing women who fought for equal suffrage....If you ever want an interesting read then the Hansard records of the Suffrage debates of Parliament make 'interesting' reading....

HI from the south. Susan I know what you mean, we haven't had sickness but the cold grey days just make you depressed. If it hadn't been that my work is withing walking distance I probably would have ended up doing nothing. Still hopefully on the up and up now that spring is here although the earthquake on Saturday morning scared the @#$%^ out of us. That was probably the scariest thing I have ever been through. We are fine though. Our side of town was not so badly affected but the continuing aftershocks are keeping us on our toes. I woke up with a nasty headache this morning, seemed to centred in my neck and upper back. Just tension as once the earth starts moving you tense up waiting to see if its going to get worse then you are tense waiting for the next one. Still we are alive. We only had a few things smashed but they are only things and I was going to de clutter my house this summer anyway so I just started early.
Paula go for it, all the best and I know you will give it your best shot.

Hi Susan

Sure we all feel a bit like that as winter extends into what you should be Spring.

Hope you're all feeling better.

I am with you - ie need endorphines and motivation! Hopefully before too long we'll get some more spring like weather and spring in our steps. Meantime I'll just go and eat the other half of the ginger crunch I didn't mean to buy for lunch - it sort of jumped off the shelf and into a bag and I just had to go along with the plans ... and eat it too!

Motivation? for eating yes ... for walking (daily) ... trying.
