Hi Judy
I had a mortons nuroma taken out of my left foot about 3 years ago. Surgery was great but it took me a long time to recover from it. I had the nuroma for 28 years and the later years really turned into painful ones as the nuroma (although benign) grew bigger and made walking so difficult. I have been having some hip difficulties lately due to an arthritic hip and also like you looking forward to walkng. Although your recovery looks to be longer :(
Take care.

Wow that is so inspiring thank you for sharing. Tomorrow morning when I awake at 5:30 I will NOT try and talk myself out of getting up and running on the treadmill. I will do some K's for you both and look forward to sharing in your progress Judy as you get back on your feet. Well done.
Helen I have a small mortons neuroma in my right foot and am OK as long as my shoes are really roomy and wide otherwise I can suffer a lot of pain. I was interested to hear your experience thanks for that.
Keep up the good work

Hi Manicginga, the surgeon though my neuroma was only very small but when she removed it was, much to the surprise of the surgeon the size of a golf ball. To be honest I don't think I have gained any benefit from having it removed. Well maybe just a little for the long distance in decent shoes but certainly not everyday street shoes.

Wow thats a huge mass to have in your foot. I hope I can continue to manage it. I have read that it doesn't always benefit. Well done for keeping on

Yes make sure you do enjoy doing a few more K's. I manage in the house at present with one crutch and moonboot. Both crutches if I head outside, thankgoodness it is well and truly winter and I don't mind being inside as much as I would if summer.

Judy, you are an absolute inspiration. Not only have you put up with a lifetime of pain, but have got a long time recuperating after this second surgery. It sounds extremely painful, and debilitating. I bet you can't wait to get going on two "new" feet and get out there. I was in a similar situation, but not even a teeny bit as much as yours when I had knee surgery last year. I was off work for six months, and know how frustrating things can get at times. When I was in that situation I felt as if I would never be able to bend, walk properly, or run and jump ever again, as it just wasn't healing quickly. Many tears were spent, but I had a great physio team and it was hard work, but finally a year to the month, I could do what I never dreamed of. I guess it's "one day at a time", and working things through slowly but surely. Keep in touch with us, and let us know your progress and we will do our darndest to keep you on the up and up.
Hope you have a great week.

Hi Judy
I have only just discovered Wonder Walkers this week. Where have I been!!!!
What a fantastic site for inspiration and to connect with other like minded woman.
What a pain for you to be out of action, it is so frustrating. Hang in there your body will heal and you will be up and about
I had a fall from the top of the stairs to the bottom at work early this year, (about 2 mtrs down) I could not believe it when I found myself a crumpled heap at the bottom and when I got my bearings all I could think, was please let my legs and feet be okay. I stood up and they were fine. Silly me doesn't matter about my head or neck haha. But I was planning on doing my very first marathon in May so that was at the forefront of my mind when I had my fall. I ended up with some nasty bruising on my elbow and a gorgeous graze on my face and forehead but the rest of the body came off okay.
I did my very first marathon in May, it took me 6 and half hours but I did it. I was very proud of myself.
I always give thanks for a working body as when some bits start aching and playing up you realise just how fortunate you are when you are feeling fine.
Well thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best for a good recovery and keep chatting on the forum. Now I have started (1st time) I hope to keep an eye on you all.
