Hi, I'm in Winton, but willing to put in a bit of travel to find new places to walk and meet up with other walkers.

Best of luck Scot. I am originally from Southland and would shift back there if it were possible !
I can't find a walking buddy in Dunedin via this wite. Hope you have more luck.
I agree, it's a bit dull striding out by oneself although I often see SERIOUS walkers out in all weathers, wearing shorts and tees, and gyrating along like Kel and Kath Knight from Kath and Kim. Good on them - but that's not for me.

hey Loudee and Scot1. Sorry you haven't had any responses on the site. Some suggestions are to go to Walking Info and check out the walking groups that may exist in your area. Sport Otago and Sport Southland should point you in the right direction to at least be able to join an existing group.Paula and I deliberated this dilemma as we braved jack frost this morning. In an ideal world we would love to have the capacity to market the site to a wider audience to attract more visitors. At present it is a slow burn approach and simply we don't have the budget. However our philosophy is to make meaning not money (haha) thats what keeps us going. We even contemplated making a trip south to see if we can help.If you feel like e mailing me at info@wonderwalkers.co.nz I have some ideas that might help.
I am off to my son's school camp but will reply asap. The least we can do if yuo send us your details is to fire out a Tshirt.

I apologise for the delay but stay tuned ,cos I will do my best to get you some options. And good on you Loudee for your recent venture-Very motivating...that feeling after some good walking in the great (fresh) outdoors is Magic!!!!Wish we could bottle it.Recent heavy frosts here in Tauranga....wonderful to see the first prints in the frost from the ducks and pukeko's..obviously early risers or sleep walkers.Hope tomorrow brings happy walking .
