Edwards Lookout

- The Kauaeranga Valley is 13km to the east in behind the town of Thames.
- Description
Cross the concrete ford beyond Whangaiterenga campground and walk along a well-formed metal track through manuka-towai forest to a rock outcrop and saddle with extensive views of the valley. This is a favourite spot for abseiling.
There are many swimming spots along the Kauaeranga River, and you can stop anywhere up the Kauaeranga Valley and access the river.
