Location
The Kauaeranga Valley is 13km to the east in behind the town of Thames, on the Coromandel Peninsula. The Jasper Creek Walk starts at Hotoritori campground
Description
The Jasper Creek Walk passes through regenerating bush. It's a good place to look for native orchids, especially in spring and summer. Water is available from the river or streams and should be boiled or treated before drinking. Dogs are permitted at Hotoritori and Booms Flat only, and must be kept on leashes at all times. There are many swimming spots along the Kauaeranga River, and you can stop anywhere up the Kauaeranga Valley and access the river.
