Leitch's Track – Whareorino Forest Park
- Location
- Whareorino Forest is approximately 45 km southwest of Te Kuiti. Drive to Pio Pio and then turn north into Kaka Road, then left into Mangaotaki road. Follow this for about 15 km until you reach Leitch road. After about 2km the road forks – Leitch road continues on the right fork for another 4 km, after which you reach the parking area. The track starts at the far end of the parking area, to the right of the DOC sign.

- This clearly marked, easily graded, track is the shortest route to Leitch's Hut.
