Oparau Route – Pirongia Forest Park

- The Park is near Hamilton city, and has many access points.
- Description
From Pirongia West Rd this route follows a rough roadline across farmland to the Park boundary. The Oparau River is not bridged and can be impassable after heavy rain.
There are picnic areas at the end of both Corcoran and Grey Rds and alongside Kaniwhaniwha Stream on Karamu Limeworks Loop Rd.Visit DOC website for information on huts and other facilities.
