Location
Head north on State Highway 1 (Northern Motorway) to Warkworth. In Warkworth, turn right at second set of traffic lights and follow the signs to Snells Beach. Approximately 1 km past Snells Beach, turn right onto Ridge Road and drive to the end.

Mahurangi Regional Park is a 256 hectare coastal park that straddles the entrance to the Mahurangi Harbour. ARC Rangers look after 300 breeding ewes and 25 – 30 young cattle. You can also find little blue penguins, pied and little shags, gannet, herons, white fronted terns, and the New Zealand dotterel. The forest supports kereru, tui, fantail, shining cuckoo, gery warbler and morepork.

When the tide is low, you can walk from Scott Point across the causeway to Maunganui (Casnell Island).Scott Homestead is located at Scott Point in Mahurangi Regional Park. The homestead is accessed by foot along the boardwalk or the foreshore. Visitors are welcome to view the building and grounds, but the homestead is only opened for booked users or by special arrangement. Limited vehicle access can also be arranged for booked users only. Scott Point has two cottages for hire. Baileys Cottage and Ferguson House.ยท Bookings can be made 6 months in advance from the month the booking is for (maximum of 7 nights during peak period, and 14 nights off-peak).
