Waterworks Track

- Hakarimata Scenic Reserve is near Ngaruawahia, 10 km from Hamilton.
- Description
This walk leaves from Brownlee Avenue and passes through attractive bush and alongside Mangarata Stream on the way to an old dam. This 750,000-litre reservoir, built in 1922, was once the water supply for Ngaruawahia. Please note that one section of the track is very muddy.
The reserve is also an excellent place to see kauri, especially the large kauri on the Kauri Loop Track.
