- Description
Walter Scott Reserve is an area of native bush near Mt. Pirongia (29km / 25minutes drive from Te Awamutu). It includes two easy/moderate walks – one is about 30 minutes and the other is about 2 hours. The walks are suitable for most age groups, with slightly hilly terrain.
On a clear day you can see Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe from the Southern boundary.
Look out for the "Big Tree" (a huge Kahikatea) and the "Rimu Grove". These are both signposted from the main track.
