- Hakarimata Scenic Reserve is near Ngaruawahia, 10 km from Hamilton.This walk starts at the dam on the Waterworks Walk walking track.

Take the Waterworks walk to the dam then continue around its northern side and climb steeply up to the Hakarimata Trig (374 metres)·
Expect unbridged stream and river crossings·
