Puhinui Reserve
- Location
Vehicle access is from the end of Prices Road which is off Puhinui Road. Car parking is next to the old red barn. Vehicle access beyond the car park is prohibited except during special events.
Pedestrian access is from the end of Prices Road and on the northeast boundary via the 16km cross-city walkway to Totara Park.
- Description
- The walkways double as a mountain bike trail on the perimeter of the reserve. Walks are easy and suited to all ages over flat to gently rolling countryside. Seats are located on the harbour side of the reserve next to the conservation area and at the start of the walk south of the toilet block.The Puhinui Reserve has a 39.5 hectare conservation area on the western shoreline of the reserve with the largest area of salt meadow, salt marsh, manuka/grass scrub in the Manukau Harbour. Native Musk and swamp coprosma can also be seen.
