Walking is good for your brain! Recent research into the effect of exercise on the brain has found that it slows down the shrinking of the hippocampus. Shrinkage occurs as a result of aging. The hippocampus is important in the long term storage and retrieval of memories.
The research also showed that exercise has a much more significant impact on cognitive function than doing Soduku or the crossword. So get your walking shoes on – it's good for your brain!
