Man's Best Friend.

If i didn't have a dog my walking hours would be a lot less.Rain or shine they desperately wait for their daily fix. There is nothing more cathartic than walking on a beautiful sunny day with your dog,who is always so grateful to be out and about in the fresh air. The unconditional love !
I meet a lot of dog owners in my travels. By and large people with dogs are friendly sorts always keen to have a chat whilst the dogs familarise themselves with the customary bottom sniffing.
If adults were half as friendly as dogs without the bum sniffing the world would be a much better place.
I don't like walking with the dog on a leash but understand that not everyone feels comfortable with dogs on the loose.Like humans there are good and bad ones.
Finding the right place is sometimes a challenge so it was great to read the article in the Herald on Sunday paper about dog friendly walks. I know it only covered Auckland but they must be all over NZ.

The wonder of having a dog is the motivation it provides to get out when this inclement weather is a lot more condusive to staying indoors.Thank goodness otherwise i may have chosen to hibernate this winter..it's been so cold and wet. But I can't complain as in less than a month I am off to the Big Apple and I never been to New York so I am very excited. My son is going to College in the US so I just had to go or at least that's what I told my husband.
