Ascot Park Hotel Southland Marathon, Invergargill, 13 November 2011

The course starts on a small hill above the picturesque seaside village of Riverton and travels through flat, fertile Southland farming country to suburban Invercargill to finish at the Surrey Park track. Most years there is a gentle tail wind (but cannot be guaranteed for this or any other year) and the November temperature is invariably cool to mild. Ideal running conditions in fact.
