The wonderful thing about the internet especially the social networking sites is the ability to connect with people.
Some may be friends you have lost touch with ,family living abroad or new people all with a different story to share.
Dave kindly contacted me to share his tramping experiences and the fact he calls his site Fathmandu immediately suggests he is a real character.
He wrote "Just found your site while I was chasing up information. I'm obviously in the wrong half to join up but you may be able to use my fathmandu website – tramping for the elderly and stout – as a resource. It's a collection of photo reports on a wide range of tracks, Waitakeres, Heaphy, St James, Greenstone, Mavoro, Waikaremoana etc and the critical feature is that they're accessible to someone who has two metal hip joints, is 68 and weighs more than 130kg. It's about what is possible."
