A New Decade

Posted on February 15, 2010 at 11:47 AM

Well if your anything like me it is virtually useless setting goals in the New Year..so now that the kids are back at school and routine kicks in it is far more realistic to set your goals even though the year seems half over.
Well I was going to run the Rotorua Marathon but decided to walk far less pressure and the training far more enjoyable..talkings a lot easier when you are walking.
I am also motivated to loose the blubber around my guts (they tell me visceral fat is the most dangerous) they didn't tell me it's the hardest to lose.
The newly purchased swiss ball, actually the kids punctured the first one with a stray dart has become a regular fixture in the lounge. The new buzz these days is working on your core muscles hence the popularity of pilates etc.'
It is amazing how a few resistance exercises coupled with your walking makes a huge difference. Haven't seen the difference yet but working on it.
Paula and I are working with Wendy Sweet our fantastic fitness expert on developing some programmes that hopefully will suit all ages and abilities.
The Wonderwalker goal has always been to focus on all the positive health benefits gained from regular exercise but it is fairly obvious that vanity comes before sanity and whether we want to admit it or not the overwhelming reason for exercising is to look good so aside from the sharing on the Forums we hope to bring you some better info re weight loss into the future.
I could share with you the trillions of weirdo diets I have sourced over the time " the steak and tomato, the cabbage,,the maple syrup the pineapple .
I wonder how many like me have been sucked in and handed over your credit card for the magical e book that I never have enough paper in my printer to down load.
Not as desperate as Demi Moore who lets leeches suck on her body but hey I am not trying to look good for a husband 15 years younger.
Keep Walking those natural endorphins will at least make you feel better.!
