Head along Scenic Drive. Fairy Falls are located on eastern slopes of the Waitakere Ranges about 5km north of the Arataki Visitor Centre

Description

An excellent circular tramp passing delightful Fairy Falls along the way. On reaching Mountain Road return to Scenic Drive via Old Coach Road Track.

The walk consists of gravel and clay underfoot and can be slippery and moderately steep in parts. Panoramic views of Auckland city, the harbour bridge and Rangitoto in the background. Rimu, kahikatea, nikau groves and kauri are plentiful. Where the track meets Old Coach Road there is a seat offering magnificient views of Auckland and beyond and 5 mins into the Fairy Falls track from Mountain Road carpark is a seat with a view to the Hunua ranges in the south and the North Shore.
