What a couple of weeks.

Well where do I start. The last two weeks have been hectic, exciting and frustrating all in one.At least I shouldn't complain that life is boring! I did mention on WW that I was going to walk the Humpridge Track..going was right. Thanks to mother nature and a less than obliging person at the check in counter I was unable to fly out because the airport was closed all day. Luck would have it that my husband who was working in Wellington made it to Queenstown and thoroughly enjoyed his tramp while the real tramp was home looking after the kids. I am sure you will understand that quite literally I had the hump because the effort of getting everyone organised to go away is exhausting in itself and then to have it all turn to custard. On a brighter note I joined Sarah Ulmer at an evening for women training for her SUB events. It was a combination of hilarity and information especially as I was included in the demonstration of how to ride in a bunch..not as easy as it looks and obviously some definite etiiquette required a bit like ladies nine hole golf or as I was politely told on Friday night there are rules around kareoke..like not taking over the microphone every time an ABBA song comes on.
I took part in the Auckland Round the Bays on Sunday. Westpac took 250 people with disabilities and provided them with the opportunity to complete the run/walk and enjoy some real hospitality afterwards.Good on you Westpac for being very genuine and meaningful around your partnership with the Halberg Trust. As my good friend who has cerebal palsy said all we want is more action more often and that generally means we need a bit of help to do so.Most of us were the tail end charlies and I chuckled to myself the next morning when I read my neice had won the event in a time of 31 mins. And if that's not enough I am off to present the test caps to the Black Caps on the eve of the first test against India. Might not mean much to a lot of women but given that I live in a cricket mad family this ranks up with "awesome" although they can't undersatnd why they aren't invited. Oh and I have been walking too.!
