Tawharanui Regional Park - North/South Coast tracks

Location
Tawharanui is Auckland’s northernmost regional park. Follow State Highway 1 (the northern motorway and the main road north) to Warkworth. At Warkworth turn right off the main highway at the second set of lights. Follow the signs to Matakana. Just past Matakana, turn right at the Omaha turn-off, head along Takatu Road and follow the signs to the park. The last 8 kms is on a heavily corrugated gravel road which requires slow, careful driving.
Description
For energetic visitors wanting views, this begins from the lagoon carpark or The Hut at Anchor Bay and winds up over the north or south coast hills right out to Tokatu Point.
