Long Bay Coastal Walk

- Follow State Highway 1 (the northern motorway and the main road north) take the Oteha Valley Road exit. Continue to the lights, then go straight ahead into Carlisle Road and follow the signs through Torbay to Long Bay.
- Description
- The trail heads up past the historic Vaughan Homestead near the northern end of the beach, and through coastal bush. Take the five minute side track to see a World War 11 gun emplacement. Continue along the coast towards Granny's Bay, taking in the panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf from the lookout point along the way. The walk takes you past Pohutukawa Bay to the Okura River. You may encounter nude bathers on Puhutukawa Bay. You can return around the coast but be aware of slippery rocks.
