Lyell Walkway

- On State Highway 7 between Nelson to Westport, 16 km north-east of Inangahua. Begins at the Lyell Camping Area, Lyell, SH6, 10km NE of Inangahua (take the upper track by the signboard).
- Description
Bush walk of historical interest, starting at an historic reserve and taking in an old cemetery on its way to the Croesus Gold Battery.
This loop track under pretty beech forest explores the history of the gold mining town of Lyell, including cemetery, stamper battery, diversion tunnel, and dray road. Part of the loop is closed after heavy rain due to risk of slips.
BBQ, Picnic Area and toilets available at the Lyell Campground (DOC).
