Punakaiki - Pororari Loop

- Access is across the ford 1.5km up the Punakaiki valley road, about 1km south of the Visitor Centre, just over the main road bridge.
- Description
A popular walk that combines the southern section of the Inland Pack Track with the Pororari River Track. You will cross the Punakaiki River (dangerous in flood) and have an easily graded climb over the ridge dividing the two rivers.
It is worth your while to carry on for a short distance beyond the Pororari Track junction to the river ford, a perfect place for a rest and something to eat before heading down the Pororari Gorge.
