Enjoy a taste of rural atmosphere along residential walks in the 'capital' of Central Hawkes Bay.

The Jellicoe Street Block is a mainly flat 2.9km residential stroll near Central Hawkes Bay College and taking in part of the Heritage Trail.

Another popular route around town is the 5.2km Lake View Block, near the Waipukurau Cemetery and taking in a steep hill on Gaisford Terrace.

For a longer trek, take the Graingers Lane Walk out past the town's racecourse. A delightful 7.3km town/country walk includes the Gaisford Terrace climb before striking the town boundaries and a soothing rural outlook.

Waipukurau also has a Heritage Trail with sights of interest including some of the town's original buildings.
