White Pine Bush Scenic Reserve – Long Loop

- 29km north of Napier on SH2.
- Description
This track is an extension of the short loop and is signposted from the footbridge at the far end of the loop. There is plenty of parking, picnic shelter and toilets.
Follow the Kareaara Stream on an unsealed track upstream. Cross the footbridge and walk down the other side. There are benches and boardwalks to sit on and enjoy the scenery. A large picnic area is situated at the junction with the short loop. The forest features many kahikatea trees. One of the trees is 38 metres tall and 470 years old.
