Lenz Reserve – Long Walk
- Location
Lenz Reserve is located 72 kilometres south of Balclutha and 32 kilometres south of Owaka on Highway 92. The entrance and eastern boundary of the reserve boarders the highway approximately 100m from Tautuku Lagoon. There is vehicle access from Highway 92 on to the reserve as far as the Tautuku Lodge buildings.
- Description
- Easy to follow track that climbs steeply uphill for approximately 20 mins and follows the line of an old bush tramway. The track leaves the tramway to avoid the gully at the collapsed bridge and continues through native trees for about 1 km. You will then come across an arrow indicating to turn right. Walk down past a viewing platform, and down through the valley over the Fleming River. The track takes you around a number of gullies and back to the lodge.
