Lenz Reserve – Short Nature Walk & Wetlands Track

Lenz Reserve is located 72 kilometres south of Balclutha and 32 kilometres south of Owaka on Highway 92. The entrance and eastern boundary of the reserve boarders the highway approximately 100m from Tautuku Lagoon. There is vehicle access from Highway 92 on to the reserve as far as the Tautuku Lodge buildings. Land adjacent to Lenz Reserve contains contiguous forest protected and managed by Dept of Conservation, to the north and west the Catlins Coastal Rainforest Park and to the east the William King Scenic Reserve. The Forest Park contains approximately 15,000 hectares.
- Description
Short Nature Walk – This is a loop walk on excellent surfaces through bush. The walk starts with a gentle climb turning right to descend and right again uphill taking you back to the camp.
Wetlands Track – Take the right hand track from the entrance. Turn right to walk on the long track to the turnoff to the Wetlands Track that is very clearly marked.
