Kurow Hill Lookout Walk

Location

This path starts at the end of Grey Street (Motel corner) in Kurow.

Follow SH 1 north. 5km from Oamaru and 3km after the Historic Places Trust property at Totara Estate, turn left heading for Weston. Drive on Airedale Road through Weston until it turns into Gully Road and joins SH 83. Turn left and drive to Kurow. Drive past the shopping area of Kurow turning left into Grey Street. At the end park in front of the sign saying Hill Walk.

Description

It is quite a steep climb. People of average fitness take about 45 minutes to reach the top, where there is a beautiful view over the Waitaki Valley.
250 m top of track. 400 m to the summit.
