- Stewart Island/Rakiura is a 20 minute flight from Invercargill or an hour by ferry from Bluff.
- Description
The island’s only settlement, in Halfmoon Bay, has a general store, postal agency, Department of Conservation Visitor Centre and a range of accommodation options. There is no bank or ATM.
The Southern Circuit is regarded as a remote, challenging tramping experience and requires a high level of fitness and good route-finding skills.
