Grade is moderate to quite steep on well-formed pathways and sealed roads.
Titirangi Domain on Kaiti Hill offers a network of paths and tracks close to the city centre accessible from different points. The most strenuous option is to start at the Cook Monument on Kaiti Beach Road. Circuits can be made by walking over the hill and returning to the Cook Monument entrance or by exiting at either the Ranfurly Street access or the Queen’s Drive exit. You can drive to the top of the hill where there are different parking areas and lookouts. The network of paths connects various lookouts, picnic areas, a children’s playground, a war memorial, a fitness trail and the Waikahua Cottage site. Excellent views over Gisborne and Poverty Bay from a variety of lookouts along the way.
