Marawaiwai Science Reserve
- Location
- Follow SH2 to Gisborne from Opotiki for about 5 km, then turn left down Warrington’s Road for half a kilometre and then right onto Harrison’s Road. A 2km drive brings you to the entrance of Marawaiwai Science Reserve. There is a large grass paddock and the tracks start there.
- Description
This is a remnant of semi coastal broadleaf forest that would have once covered much of the Opotiki area. There are still many common bush birds in the forest area.
The track runs along a meandering stream. It is easy and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.- Duration
