Courthouse Flat - Nuggety Creek
- Location
- Park at Courthouse Flat which is 15 minutes' drive past the start of the Wangapeka Track and 4km beyond the Rolling River Junction. The historic flat is a DOC campsite and a good campsite for day walks.
- Description
From the Courthouse Flat campsite cross the bridge and head towards the Lutine Pool and continue straight ahead from the last turnoff.
This is an easy track with a gradual climb to a small extension loop. The track ends at Doran's historical loop. Return back the way you came to the campsite.
You will find the remains from the Doran's Reef Goldmining Company and there is also a mineshaft near the track to be discovered.
