Ridgeway Hills

Location
Drive from Nelson turning left off Waimea Road to the Ridgeway. Start from the Poplar Reserve on the right hand side of the Ridgeway subdivision.
Description

The walking path takes you through trees to a seat and steps leading down to Arapiki Road.
From the top of Newman Drive there are views out to Stoke, the airport Rabbit Island and Jenkins Creek to the South. Near the end of this walk you go through the Bolwell Reserve, named after David and Waverney Bolwell known for their encouragement to children in tree planting and enjoyment of the outdoors.

From Poplar Reserve take the walking path through tree plantings to the top, where there is a seat and a short set of steps leading down to Arapiki Road.

Walk down the steep hill through residential gardens to The Ridgeway and turn right – crossing over to the footpath. Carry on and just before the Enner Glynn School take a right turn into Newman Drive. At the top follow the road around the right hand side of the hill. At the head of the valley a track leads into the plantings of the Bolwell Reserve. This track then takes you down the hill to the starting point opposite Poplar Reserve.
