Mokorua Gorge

- Access to the reserve walk is from the bottom of Mokorua Gorge, or at the top of the end of White Horse Drive.
- Description
1 hour – White Horse Junction to the bottom of Mokorua Gorge or 1.5 hours loop track
The reserve is home to the most common native bush birds including tui, bellbirds and fantails. The track traverses the stream valley a number of times before climbing the high ridge overlooking Whakatane. It then follows down to a final steep descent to the walkway exit adjacent to the car park at the bottom of the gorge.
