Situate on the beach at Waihau (Loisels) Beach between Gisborne and Tolaga Bay – 41kms north of Gisborne City – approx. 35 minutes drive.
Description

Stay in a huge loghouse with 40 acres of farmland overlooking 5.6kms of beautiful unspoilt beach. The best place to see the first sunrise in the World.

Walks Available

A 5..6km Beach Walk with Dotterell colony at one end and White Breasted Shag colony at the other.

Cook's Cove and Tolaga Bay Wharf – A good day walk along the beach, over the Old Coach track to Tolaga Bay and the start of the DOC Track to Cook's Cove (Captain Cook's first landing place in NZ). From the lookout en route to Cook's Cove is a beautiful view of Tolaga Bay Wharf (Longest Man Made Wharf in NZ – 600m long).

A nice end to the day is a coffee or drink at one of the local cafes in Tolaga Bay township, or a visit to the Cashmere factory.
