The Bird’s Eye Brooklyn View
- Location
- Head over the Motueka Bridge and instead of taking the main road bend into Riwaka,go straight ahead along the end of Umukuri Road.Turn left at the bend passing Brooklyn School on your right, then right along the Brooklyn Valley Road where the rural scenery is pretty no matter what time of year. The Brooklyn Valley Reserve is the starting point to this walk and there is plenty of room for parking.
- Description
The track starts from the reserve and there is a steep climb up the hill to the vantage point. At the top there is a bench seat which gives beautiful views right over the Motueka Valley and out into Tasman Bay.
This short walk gives a great view over the patchwork fields of the Motueka plains, across Tasman Bay and over to the rugged beauty of the Takaka Hill. This walk does not take long, but it
involves a bit of stamina.A new loop track has also been added along the western boundary. This takes walkers down the hills and across the stream on a newly installed footbridge. You can then walk alongside the stream through the paddock area and return to the playground and car park.
