Location
Situated on SH6, Upper Buller Gorge, Murchison. It is 14kms west of Murchison on the route to Westport or a 1hr drive from Westport if you are coming from that direction.
Description

New Zealand’s longest Swingbridge.

Across the Swingbridge visitors arrive at White’s Creek peninsula. The peninsula is steeped in history. Visitors can pan for gold and learn about early gold mining in New Zealand or walk to the famous White’s Creek Fautline, epicentre to the 1929 Murchison earthquake. There is also a range of walks available that showcase some of New Zealand’s unique native trees & bird life, complemented by a range of boards providing a wealth of information.

Four independent freedom walks are available for visitors to enjoy when visiting Buller Gorge Swingbridge. Walks range in length from 15 minutes to one hour. Large information boards are located along each walk. The boards are designed to link the walks and provide visitors with additional stories and information about the regions rich history, bush and bird life
