McKee Memorial Reserve

Location
This Reserve is situated at Ruby Bay between the main coastal highway from Richmond to Motueka and the seashore. It is approximately 4 kms from Mapua School.
Description

This stunning area of native bush that is home to a range of native birds has more than a kilometre of beach frontage. The reserve is one of the few remaining remnants of coastal native bush and is a protected area. All birds and plant life (including dead tree branches etc) are protected and removal is prohibited.

There are two walks – one runs through the bush along the reserve- the other starts half way along the reserve and up to the top of the Bluffs to a lookout. Both track entries are marked. Please keep to the tracks to avoid damage to the native seedlings and regenerating bush.

The spectacular Bluffs are at the northern end – a five minute walk at the end of the reserve.
