Redcliffs Hill Walk
- Location
- Start at the car park by Celia Street and jetty.
- Description
This walk explores the Redcliffs shoreline and cliffs offering views over the estuary. The walk is mostly along quiet streets with two road crossings on Main Road via pedestrian islands.
Walk past the jetty opposite the Redcliffs Park and playground turning into Beachville Road. Notice the house built like the top part of a ship with a funnel!
Walk along the sea wall which has seats and tables to Beachville Reserve. Cross over the road where Beachville and Main Road join turning into Taupata Street. Follow this road to Egnot Heights. This leads to Challenger Lane. Follow this to the walking track up to Daring Lane. Turn right onto Glenstrae Road with coastal views and new housing subdivisions. Walk down Glenstrae Road and into Glendevere Terrace to Balmoral Hill Reserve.
There are seats offering excellent views here. Walk over the reserve to the short track to Glenstrae Road following the steep road down to McCormacks Bay Reserve. Follow the reserve to Main Road crossing the pedestrian island into Celia Street and onto the car park.
Dogs must be on a leash by the estuary.
Short walk option: Walk along Beachville Road to the reserve, 20 min return.
