Bridle Path - Kahukura Track

- Start at the car park on the Summit Road.

From the car park on the Summit Road, cross the stile and pick up Kahukura track that zig zags a short distance down to the left. Sidle under the bluffs, passing a toilet, and then a seat looking out over the city. Passing under bluffs all the way, the track continues around to the east side overlooking Heathcote valley and the gondola before climbing back to the car park to complete this circuit.

For a longer circuit, start as for the Kahukura Circuit then zig zag down Kahukura Track to a junction with the Bridle Path. Return to the Castle Rock car park via the Bridle Path and the Crater Rim Walkway. The circuit can also be done from the Bridle Path car park at the foot of the gondola.
