Mokaihaha Ecological Area

Location

Situated on the Mamaku Plateau
9.6 km south east of Mamaku on 5th road.

Description

Short tailed bats, Kaka and Kokako can be seen in this area.
This is for the more serious wildlife and tramping enthusiasts and is really the start of the Rotohokahoka track. This track was once used by Maori on their way between Rotorua and the Waikato.
