Radome Track – Te Kopahou Reserve

There are several entrances to this reserve. Visit the Council website below for further directions.
The entrance is found on the left just past the Airways Corporation domed radar station on Hawkins Hill, 55mins from the wind turbine.
- Description
This route has a steep rough descent. Once in the valley floor, an alternative return route could either be by the Red Rocks or Te Kopahou/Bunker Track.
The dome was built in 1990 with its radars and equipment used to control aircraft from Christchurch to Wellington.
