Kaimai Summit Loop Track
- Location
- This track is located at the Kaimai Summit on SH 29. The unsignposted gravel carpark is on the northern side of the road, opposite a fresh water spring.
- Description
The track starts at the northern end of the gravelled carpark opposite the fresh water spring. Follow the North South Track for about 10min until reaching a track junction. The loop follows a short ridge before dropping down to meet up with the road 50m below the carpark.
The walk is an excellent example of large canopy trees, ground plants, lichens, ferns, orchids and epiphytes. The Kaimai lookout over the Waikato plains is two hundred metres down the road.
